Making sustainability measurable: Precise calculation of the product carbon footprint (PCF)
Georgsmarienhütte GmbH uses a PCF calculation method validated by TÜV SÜD for its more than 1,000 steel variants. The algorithms used to calculate the PCF take into account all CO2 emissions in great detail, from the raw materials used to the provision of the product at the GMH factory gate, in accordance with the system boundaries (“cradle to gate”). This certified calculation methodology enables us to provide customers with sound support for their own decarbonization strategy. With the expansion of the GMH Green Steel portfolio, customers can choose between different levels of sustainability.
