Scrap
We supply steelworks and foundries with high-quality steel, non-ferrous and alloyed scrap, processed competently and customer-oriented. We also offer a comprehensive scrap processing portfolio, from shredding to briquetting and packaging.
With our shredding units, falling units, screening systems, burning hoods and the blasting bunker, we can process a wide range of materials according to customer requirements in terms of size and weight. We use a baling press for optimum volume reduction of sheet metal scrap. Our briquetting press is used to produce briquettes from a composite of steel chips and grinding sludge.
Our Portfolio
Steel scrap
Steel scrap grades are classified using the European steel scrap grade list. The definitions of the individual grades refer to unalloyed steel scrap that is used directly as a raw material in steelworks. The valid European scrap grade list and our scrap acceptance conditions can be found in the download center.

Special-grade scrap
We process special scrap efficiently. By-products from pig iron and steel production include ferrous by-products. These materials are in a non-batchable form and are reduced to batchable weights and sizes using our own processing units.

Grinding sludge
During the grinding of metallic components, so-called grinding sludge is produced in conjunction with the cooling lubricants required for processing. The main components of such sludges are metals, ceramic materials, oils and oil-water mixtures – so-called emulsions. As a rule, this grinding sludge is waste that requires special treatment. It is processed in the approved briquetting plant for material recycling in steelworks. For this purpose, the sludge is first mixed with steel chips and pressed into briquettes under high pressure. The outgoing emulsions and residual liquids are further processed in our downstream splitting plant.

Alloyed steel scrap
In addition to the iron content, alloyed steel scrap contains other significant components such as chromium, nickel or molybdenum. A distinction is also made between stainless steel grades and low-alloy structural steel grades. Examples of stainless grades are the material 1.4301 (V2A) with approx. 18 % chromium and 8 % nickel or the material 1.4401 (V4A), which also contains 2 % molybdenum. The low-alloy steel scrap differs from the stainless grades in that it contains significantly less chromium, nickel and molybdenum. The materials 2713 or 2343 can be cited as examples.
