“Promoting young talent and developing the potential of employees is one of my main tasks. I also liaise with the company’s top management for Group-wide potential and succession management. In my work, I meet very different people every day – office staff, workers from the plants and senior executives from top management. They all have a common goal in their different tasks: to shape the future in a positive way. Another component of my work is the Culture Clubs. Here we work together on our corporate values, tackle issues pragmatically and use employees’ expertise to develop solutions.”

“In what situation do you experience your creative freedom?”

“I experience my creative freedom every time we prepare activities as a team: We can be creative, try out new things and try things that haven’t been done here before. Of course, it all must have its framework –
and it must ultimately also appeal to our colleagues. But this freedom keeps us moving forward.”

“In our international team, we work together across departments and companies. For example, we simulate the solidification of liquid steel in continuous casting and the flow of gas burners. Or we calculate deformations in rolling mills or forging processes. This means that our team is not only used for process optimization tasks, but also works every day to improve process understanding and generate knowledge.”

“What does the future of steel production look like for you?”

“For me, the future of steel production is green. Because our steel can be produced almost CO₂ -neutral.”
